Off-Highway Vehicles 4 Me (OHV4ME) Program

OHV4ME expanded in 2023, growing from being able to previously serve 20 at-risk youth between the ages of 10-17 years to 44 kids. This successful program brings officers and youth together weekly for 21 weeks to learn riding, safety, and maintenance of motorcycles, regardless of their riding experience.  Each session concludes with the kids and officers sharing a meal.  One of the most important parts of the program is the mentorship aspect.  On the first day, the participants sit down one-on-one with an officer and discuss their problems and goals. Each child completes a  Personal Success Plan, and during the week they write down what they have done to work on their plan. At the end of the 21 weeks, the participants must ride through an off-road course in order to receive their certification.
